Decoding the Cancer Enigma: Untapped Strategies for Prevention and Cure

Cancer is a diverse condition caused by various unique genetic abnormalities. Some mutations are inherited, like BRCA1 and BRCA2 that boost the risk of breast and ovarian cancers, while others result from gene damage. Tumor suppressor genes can mutate and trigger malignancy, as can oncogenes, which can lead to uncontrolled cell growth when they mutate. Environmental factors such as UV radiation, carcinogenic smoke, industrial chemicals, and air pollution subtly elevate cancer risks. Lifestyle choices such as obesity, alcohol abuse, and chronic stress can also enhance our susceptibility to cancer. Although the disease is multi-clausal, preventive measures like routine screening, vaccination, and lifestyle changes can greatly reduce our risk. Innovative treatments like immunotherapy, precision medicine, and CAR-T cell therapy are also transforming the approach to cancer care, moving us closer to solving the puzzle of this disease.
