Cameron H. Tousi is the firm’s founder and managing partner. Having counseled an array of businesses, from leading startups to Fortune 500’s, for two decades at a number of leading Washington, DC law firms, in 2012 he founded IPLL. His goal was to bring the same vigor, leadership, specialization and teamwork to advance the interests of small and medium sized businesses as well as individuals.
Cameron has received numerous awards and peer distinctions, including 2022 induction into Marquis’ Who’s Who of Entrepreneurs, Business Owners and Professionals. Martindale awarded him its top 1% AV Preeminent Rating for professional excellence, considered the gold standard for peer reviewed legal professionals, and consistently ranks him in its highest level Platinum Client Champion for client satisfaction. The leading U.S. law journals National Law Journal, The American Lawyer, Corporate Counsel magazine and The Recorder have also ranked Cameron in their top 1% of practitioners every year since 2017, Lawyers of Distinction gave him highest honors in civil litigation, and he’s received numerous other accolades by business and law journals.
In his own practice, he is nationally renowned in corporate and intellectual property (IP) law, both subject matter and litigation, particularly for technology-related business and high stakes complex litigation matters; today he is focused like a laser beam on the rights of small businesses and individual plaintiffs. Offering clients some twenty-eight years of both legal and technological industry experience, he has represented over 800 clients; here is a representative sample. In the business arena, he has advised tech companies and growth-oriented startups in all aspects of venture capital finance, acquisitions, restructuring, recapitalizations, securitization and structured finance, debt instruments and lender transactions, as well as advising and negotiating on business transactions for achieving market fit and early market domination. He also brings decades of experience in specialized areas of intellectual property, in both acquisition and litigation, including patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets, and was formerly director of intellectual property for one of the world’s leading telecom corporations. Cameron also presently serves as part-time vice president and general counsel of Flow Health, a leading global COVID testing company that’s made a difference during the global pandemic.
In establishing a distinguished reputation as a litigator, Cameron has led trial teams on behalf of plaintiffs for high-profile cases with combined amounts in controversy exceeding $1.1 billion before a dozen federal trial and appellate court venues. Cameron also writes and speaks extensively on timely issues of law and justice, particularly on behalf of entrepreneurs, startups and tech creators. His articles have appeared in Bloomberg Law, Entrepreneur magazine, Solicitor’s Journal, IPWatchdog and scholarly law journals, and he’s often quoted by international journalists about pressing legal issues.
